The Official launch of advice4croydon

red tape

On the 8th of October the First Citizen of Croydon, the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Patricia Hay-Justice officially unveiled the CAPT Information Portal at the CVA Resource Centre, London Road, Croydon. Guests from advice and support organisations in the borough, along with Croydon Council representatives and interested members of the public were able to see a demonstration of the Information Portal and learn more about the CAPT Portal and Partnership. (Take a look at the photographs and video highlights of the event by clicking here )

The CAPT Online Portal is designed to be a one-stop information resource for the borough of Croydon to provide a clear view of housing, debt, employment, benefits, family, healthcare, disability, immigration, legal and other advice and support available for the people living, working and studying in Croydon.

www.advice4croydon.org.uk is funded by the Big Lottery and designed for the Croydon Advice Providers Together Partnership (CAPT).

The CAPT partnership brings together nine qualified advice providers and umbrella support organisations: Citizens Advice Croydon, South West London Law Centres, Age UK Croydon, Mind in Croydon, Centre of Excellence for Sensory Impairment, Disability Croydon, CAYSH, CVA, and Croydon Neighbourhood Care Association.

The portal is the CAPT Project legacy for Croydon and will be a valuable resource for the people of Croydon who need advice and support, and for the Croydon advice and support groups, organisations and statutory bodies. It will increase the capacity to meet the growing demand for advice and support by providing self-help information, improving the accuracy of signposting and referrals, and enabling the people of Croydon to find the most appropriate support, help and advice for the problems they face.

The CAPT portal brings local and national information, advice, contact details for help and support, at the touch of your fingertips. All you need is an internet connection, computer, tablet or smart phone.
